Ruth Slattery is the woman behind Native State, (songwriter,vocals,acoustic guitar,keyboards) with Tom Owen (bass), Christie Spurling (drums) and Vikki Brunning (strings, keys & bvox). Ruth started out by forming the band Djinn. They performed extensively on the pub circuit and then moved to playing Manchester venues. Moving to Manchester, Ruth shared a house with other artists & musicians, including Damon Gough who was the first to find success as Badly Drawn Boy. Ruth then set up her own recording studio to focus on her songwriting. Native State is the result. With her new band she is performing some of the strongest songs around today.
